My first blog post...

Welcome to my new blog!

OK, this is definitely going to challenge me because I'm going to have to overcome my fear of writing. I hope to blog often about all things related to digital cutting machines & the files that they use, tips on designing digital files & getting the most out of your designing software. I have a Klic-N-Kut cutter, and love the KNK Studio software that comes with it. I also use Adobe Illustrator CS3 to design with and convert the files to other formats. I will be giving away FREE digital files, so keep an eye out :o). I have just become a designer for Visual Designs by Chris, she does amazing work & I am so proud to join her team.

I guess I should introduce myself a bit. I'm Darcy and I live in Illinois. I have an awesome, and very busy life chasing after four kids. We do a TON of soccer, both my boys play travel. And, travel we do...we have been as far as Florida for tournaments. As a matter of fact, when Nicky was just 3 days old he had already been to 5 soccer games. I may has well have given birth to him on the fields. My daughter, Jessica does a lot of theater with a great community program called CYT...Christian Youth Theater. They are an amazing group of people, and they do amazing shows. Almost...professional level. You may have seen their shows, they have locations all over the country. And, unlike myself Jessica loves to write. She has already won awards for her writing, and been invited to be reviewer of books for a kids magazine. My seven year old does team gymnastics as well as his travel soccer. And, Nicky...well poor Nicky just gets dragged to everything :o). My husband is a bit of a work-a-holic, but he still does an awesome job of being a part of everything we do.

  2. I love your designs, and can relate to your life! We have 4 children, and our youngest also grew up on the soccer field or basketball court watching his siblings. He was kicking a soccer ball almost as soon as he walked! He just graduated from high school, and is such an easy-going young man, with aspirations of playing college basketball. It doesn't seem possible that we're going to have an empty nest already, but it is a good feeling to know that your kids are ready to move out into world and become self-sufficient.

  3. Thank you, Becky! That is too funny, I think the fourth just rolls with it. Our fourth is definitely going to be a soccer star if he chooses...he's a tough one, and already dribbles, shoots & scores...LOL!

Wow, an empty nest...scary & wonderful at the same time!

    Darcy :o)
